IUFP Admission Criteria

ADMISSION CRITERIA

Students must have completed the Secondary High School education in Nigeria or their own country (for international students) and be at least 16 years old. They must possess Five (5) Credits at WASSCE 'O' Level standard (or equivalent), which must include English Language and Mathematics.

Students undertaking the IUFP are required to obtain an overall Band Score of 6.5 (6.0 in each sub-test) by the time they complete the programme. Unless a student already possesses an IELTS overall score of 6.5 with 6.0 in each sub-test, all IUFP students are required to undertake the IELTS exam at the end of the programme. The Academic English module of the IUFP is designed to improve the English language competence of IUFP students in readiness for their degree studies at University.

Students undertaking the IUFP are required to obtain an Overall Band Score of 6.5 (6.0 in each sub-test of Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing) by the time they complete the IUFP if they wish to progress to universities in Australia, Canada, Mauritius or UAE. Otherwise, if they wish to progress to UK universities, their Credit grade in English language in WAEC, NECO or IGCSE is deemed by some (not all) of our university partners in UK as sufficient in meeting the English language criteria. For applicants wishing to progress to University of Hertfordshire or St. Mary's University, Twickenham, London in UK, IELTS is required.
